For victims and witnesses, participating in the court process can be a bit confusing and, at times, intimidating.  Cases can take awhile to progress through the system and the rules of the court and the issues being debated can be complex.  In short, due to the nature of the court process, it is nice to have some help understanding what has gone on and what will happen next.
