Screening Cases with the DA's Office
If you have investigated a case and would like it screened by the DA’s Office, please contact the appropriate screening unit. There are two screening units in the DA’s Office. The main Screening Unit is located at the DA’s Broadway Office and screens cases from all local police agencies except Midvale, Taylorsville, West Jordan, and South Jordan. Cases from those jurisdictions should be screened by the West Jordan Screening Unit at the DA’s West Jordan Office. Domestic Violence, Special Victims, and Juvenile cases are screened by their respective prosecution teams.

You can reach the Broadway Screening Unit at (801) 363-7900.

You can reach the West Jordan Screening Unit at (801) 468-3650.

A Few Things to Remember When Screening a Case

•    Feel free to contact the Screening Unit with any questions regarding the entry of information into PIMS, the appropriate charges for your case, case declination, or any other matter.

•    Contact the Screening Unit if you have any time sensitive issues with your case. Also, please note that charges must now be filed within 2 business days after the day of arrest.  Get your cases to the DA’s Office the first business day after arrest to allow time to screen and file charges.

•    Feel free to contact the DA’s Office with any questions regarding a case declination.

•    Remember that DV sex offenses should be screened in person with Michaela Andruzzi at the Broadway Office.

•    Leave all other DV screening packets on the 4th floor of the Broadway building with a DV Screening Cover Sheet. Print the cover sheet.

If you have any other questions, please call the appropriate screening unit.
