Gang Prosecution Team
The Gang Team prosecutes all felony gang cases in Salt Lake County. This team prosecutes any felony committed by a documented gang member and/or any person who associates with a known gang member. This can include crimes such as gang-related murder, assault, and robbery.
In addition to prosecuting gang members and their associates, the Gang Team helps to educate and train local law enforcement officers on how to deal with the specific challenges presented by gang cases and investigations.
The team also works closely with law enforcement to track known gang members through the criminal justice system. Intelligence about gang activity helps prosecutors gain a better understanding of the effect gangs have on our community and bring gang offenders to justice.
