District Attorney's Office
Organizational Overview

The DA’s Office is divided into four separate divisions: The Administrative Division, the Civil Division, the Criminal Division, and the Investigations Division.  The efforts of these divisions combine to fulfill the statutory responsibilities held by the DA’s Office.

The Civil Division provides legal support to Salt Lake County and its elected officials.  The Criminal Division prosecutes all felony crimes committed in the County and misdemeanors committed in unincorporated Salt Lake County.  The Investigations Division provides support to the Civil and Criminal Divisions by strengthening cases through expert investigation.  Finally, the Administrative Division ensures that the other divisions have the resources needed to efficiently provide service to the County.
