Juvenile prosecution differs from adult prosecution both in how crimes are prosecuted and in what the possible sentences are upon conviction. The Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office has a team dedicated to the prosecution of juvenile offenders in Salt Lake County.  More than other teams, the Juvenile Team receives special training meant to help attorneys prosecute youth offenders with an emphasis on rehabilitation. A major consideration of juvenile prosecution is the hope that a juvenile offender will be able to correct criminal behavior and lead a productive life.

Prosecutors on the Juvenile Team possess a wealth of experience and expertise that help them weigh the facts of each case and determine how to pursue rehabilitative justice.
