In the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office, felony crimes not associated with domestic violence, child or sexual abuse, gang activity, drugs, or juveniles are prosecuted by the three General Felony Teams. Attorneys on the felony teams possess a wealth of experience and expertise that aids in the prosecution of a wide variety of crimes. General felony attorneys prosecute violent crimes such as homicide, assault, and aggravated robberies. Additionally, they must have the knowledge necessary to prosecute crimes requiring a specific understanding or expertise, such as identity theft, forgery, fraud, felony DUIs, dog fighting, and more.
The DA’s general felony prosecutors do an excellent job handling a wide variety of cases and high case loads, and have the experience necessary to obtain just resolutions to complex cases.
